    My First Interview

    Friday, February 22, 2008, 03:49 PM [General]

    Hey Everyone

Sorry I haven't been around much, but I have a lot of great things going on in my life right now. I have been working around the clock on getting my new website for my practice up and running. Southern Hypnosis & Consulting. I have also been working with a good friend Taylor to add context and market his hypnosis and Nlp forum called Trancedout Forums.

I have also been working on a couple of new articles for my blog. Beside all of this I have also been seeing clients, reading books and courses and enjoying my new certified hypnosis pro mug (Thanks Cal & Celeste)

The real reason I'm writing this blog is to let everyone know that I have given my first interview. I'm really excited and I know I will get better at it in the future. A lot of people have found my story of being a young hypnotist pretty interesting and has been turning into good publicity. I have also recently been asked to guest star on a local news station. Pretty cool stuff and i'll post more details when that goes through.

I would love for all my friends and fellow hypnotist to check out the interview and let me know what you think. I was interviewed by The Transparent Hypnotist and the link can be found below:

I look forward to having some more free time too once my wife and I get the new puppy house broken. Once again great success to all.

    Setting up my practice

    Friday, January 11, 2008, 11:41 AM [General]

    Hello Everyone

It has been a while since I written a blog post on this site. I have been busy working on setting up my first hypnosis practice named "Southern Hypnosis & Consulting". I have been working on the website and attempting to turn my home study into a hypnosis office.

I recently got my hypno-chair, which I love and to be honest I want to keep it for myself. :) Just sitting in the chair seems to send me into a deep level of hypnosis.

I have also been dealing with the whole business license and tax Id issue. I'm located in Columbus, georgia and while their are no laws on the book. The city adds a little odd to hypnosis sometimes. Since I want to work out of my house I have to go in front of the zoning board and get their approval to work out of my house.

I guess their main concern is traffic, but I don't see that becoming too much of an issue. I plan to only have one car at my office at a time.

On the education front I am continuing to learn more about hypnosis. I'm really interesting in learning more about weight loss. I see it can be a very intense and interesting field.

One of the biggest hurdles I am attempting to overcome is my hypnosis skills as far as talking to the client. I seem to be at a loss everytime i finish the induction. I always do well and get through, but it feels to me as if I have trouble thinking of what to say to the client. I talk to them as if I am a concerned friend, but sometimes the words just don't seem to flow to me.

I know I am still young and as practice more and learn more I'll get better and better. I look up to some of my heroes in this field such as Dave Elman, Gerald Kein, Cal, tom nicoli and erickson and I see how the sessions seem to flow so easy for them, but then I have to remember they have been at it way longer then me. I know in time it will come and for now I am just keeping on, keeping on. Everyday in everyway I'm getting better and better. I also believe in just going for  something when I can. I have a motto which is fail forward fast. I believe with my motivation and my motto I will get the right flow in time. My hypnosis instructor once told me I have to find my "talk button" once I find that I 'll be on the way. Well I got to run, but until the next time.

I took my NGH Certification test and passed!

    Sunday, December 9, 2007, 03:43 PM [General]

    Hello Everyone

I just wanted to let everyone now I took my National Guild of Hypnotist certification test today and passed. I am know a official member of the National Guild of Hypnotist!

The funny thing is the test is the only part that counts. My passing also had to do with the way I presented my knowledge in class, my homework, my presentation and more. All of these items contribute to my passing. I did miss a few questions, but they we're sort of grey area questions. Either way I am very happy. I have been in training since Oct and have well over the required 100 hours.

Still this is only the beginning of my journey. I still have much more to learn and I can't wait till it times for me to become board certified. I want to thank everyone on ourhypnospace who has helped me along the way. This place has been a second home for me and I am grateful.

Overall the test was pretty straightward. The funny thing is a few of my realtives thought I was graduating from high school and sent me some free gifts. :)

The sad part is that I haven't been in high school for a long time, so that shows how much in touch they keep. lol Still I always love getting and receiving gifts. Overall getting my NGH certification has been great and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me. Happy holidays to all my fellow hypnotist.

    Thanks

    A new hypnosis Forum Trancedout

    Saturday, December 1, 2007, 02:07 PM [General]

    Hey Everyone

I know many of us love to network and talk about hypnosis. Well a fellow hypnotist I know has started a new hypnosis and NLP forum for people to get together talk, read articles and more. It's really hard to find a place to talk hypnosis with others. The only real place is here at OurHypnospace.

I would love to see his online community grow so I just thought I would let everyone know about it and check it out. The address is www.trancedout.com/forum and his blog with some really good articles are www.trancedout.com

So if your looking for another place to hang out and talk with other hypnotist or just people who enjoy hypnosis then stop by and register for free. It would be great to start seeing other forums pop up and to have other places to hang out as well.

    Thanks

    Josh

Getting ready to take my NGH certification test

    Saturday, December 1, 2007, 01:10 AM [General]

    Hello Everyone

Sorry I haven't been around much, but I have been pretty busy in my personal life dealing with some real estate issues from my main job. I'm just writing to let everyone know that next week I will be taking my National Guild of Hypnotist certification test. I have been waiting for this day for a while now and it's finally here. I know I'm going to do great on the test. My teacher and fellow students keep telling me I appear to have a natural gift for hypnosis. I got to learn to accept comment better and stop being so modest some times. In my eyes I just see myself as just another hypnotist learning the ropes, but I guess the old saying is true.

If someone sees it within you, then it may be their.  Once I get my National Guild of Hypnotist certification out of the way I got to start trying to find me a cheap hypno chair. I also can't wait to pick up a few training dvd's from Cal's Mall and a few from Gerald Kein. I'm also currently working on building my website for my practice. So I got a lot of great things going on and I can't wait to start changing lives. Well I will keep everyone up to date with my test and i'll talk to all of you later.
