    Setting up my practice

    Hello Everyone

It has been a while since I written a blog post on this site. I have been busy working on setting up my first hypnosis practice named "Southern Hypnosis & Consulting". I have been working on the website and attempting to turn my home study into a hypnosis office.

I recently got my hypno-chair, which I love and to be honest I want to keep it for myself. :) Just sitting in the chair seems to send me into a deep level of hypnosis.

I have also been dealing with the whole business license and tax Id issue. I'm located in Columbus, georgia and while their are no laws on the book. The city adds a little odd to hypnosis sometimes. Since I want to work out of my house I have to go in front of the zoning board and get their approval to work out of my house.

I guess their main concern is traffic, but I don't see that becoming too much of an issue. I plan to only have one car at my office at a time.

On the education front I am continuing to learn more about hypnosis. I'm really interesting in learning more about weight loss. I see it can be a very intense and interesting field.

One of the biggest hurdles I am attempting to overcome is my hypnosis skills as far as talking to the client. I seem to be at a loss everytime i finish the induction. I always do well and get through, but it feels to me as if I have trouble thinking of what to say to the client. I talk to them as if I am a concerned friend, but sometimes the words just don't seem to flow to me.

I know I am still young and as practice more and learn more I'll get better and better. I look up to some of my heroes in this field such as Dave Elman, Gerald Kein, Cal, tom nicoli and erickson and I see how the sessions seem to flow so easy for them, but then I have to remember they have been at it way longer then me. I know in time it will come and for now I am just keeping on, keeping on. Everyday in everyway I'm getting better and better. I also believe in just going for  something when I can. I have a motto which is fail forward fast. I believe with my motivation and my motto I will get the right flow in time. My hypnosis instructor once told me I have to find my "talk button" once I find that I 'll be on the way. Well I got to run, but until the next time.

Hey there Josh, congratulations on moving forward! As Mr. Elman said, "the best student has a combination of successes and failures while learning...in this subject you learn more from your failures than successes."

(not that you have failed, but you get the picture)
